Electroacoustic Music Competition

The International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music is pleased to announce the biennial PRIX CIME 2025 International Electroacoustic Music Competition.
Founded in 1981 in Bourges, France, ICEM has been a member of the International Music Council (IMC) since its inception. It is a non-profit international organization consisting of National Federations, Organizations, Institutions, and Associate Members.
Today, ICEM includes eighteen National Federations:
FARME (Argentina), FeBeME - BeFEM (Belgium), CECh (Chile), EMAC (China), LNME (Cuba), Charm of Sound (Finland), FeFraME (France), BEAN (Great Britain), HELMCA (Greece), HCMF (Hungary), AARSOM (Mexico), PSeME (Poland), Miso Music (Portugal), KEAMS (South Korea), AMEE (Spain), AMEG (Switzerland), UAEM (Ukraine), SEAMUS (USA).
Additionally, it includes sixteen International Organization and Associate Members:

Eligibility
The competition is divided into two main categories:
• Section I: Prix CIME - Open to all composers regardless of age.
• Section II: Residency Prix CIME - Open to composers born after December 31, 1990.
Competition Guidelines
• The competition is open to all regardless of gender, nationality, or affiliation. Residency in an ICEM member country is not required.
• Each applicant may submit only one composition.
• Only works written within the last 5 years will be considered
• Anonymous submission is required, please ensure that you do not include any personally identifiable information in your responses.
• No duration limitations apply
• No entry fee is required
• Open to all forms of electroacoustic music in the following categories:
_ Category 1: fixed audio
_ Category 2: instrument(s) and electronics (fixed and/or live)
_ Category 3: video music
_ Category 4: sound art, new interfaces, and other
• Works in progress will not be considered.
Submission Guidelines
Complete the online application form here:
• submitted files must be anonymized
• audio files must be uncompressed (16/24-bit, 44.1/48kHz sampling rate)
• for multichannel works, include a stereo or binaural version of the piece
• for multichannel works, submit the audio files in a separate folder along with spatial information on a separate document
• For installations, include audio, video, photographs, and any other documentation relevant to the work.
Please provide a valid permanent link to your work using a file hosting service such as Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.
• Upload a single .zip file named as follows: Title_2025.zip (e.g., MyComposition_2025.zip).
• The .zip file must include all submission materials, such as:
_ Audio files (with stereo/binaural reduction for multichannel works)
_ Video files (if applicable)
_ Musical score in .pdf format (if applicable)
_ Any additional documentation
• Ensure that the link remains active until August 30, 2025.

Awards
The competition will award the following prizes:
• Section I
_ Prix CIME - open to all composers regardless of age
. Main prize (divisible in case of ex-aequo)
. Honorable Mentions
. Distinctions (one per category)
• Section II
_ Residency Prix CIME - open to all composers born after December 31, 1990
Studio Residencies (for category 2 composers) include 1-2 weeks of studio support, accommodation, and lodging arranged by each center independently. The number of Prix CIME residencies depends on the participating studios, which will be announced in due time.
The selected works from both categories will receive:
. Inclusion in the ICEM CD/DVD release http://audio.art.pl/audiomat/
. Distribution to the ICEM members for concert/broadcast programming
. Performance at the ICEM annual festival
. Online publicity and recognition
Note: There is no monetary prize for awarded works
The Jury's decision is final and unappealable. The jury reserves the right not to award a prize.
Finalists will be publicly announced
Important Dates
- Call for submissions opens: February 2025
- Submission deadline: May 1, 2025.
- Final deliberations and results announcement: during the ICEM General Assembly, late September 2025.
